How to get Vietnam visa for Taiwanese citizens

They are to get Vietnam visa at Vietnam Embassy Worlwide and Vietnam visa on arrival. Between them, Vietnam visa on arrival is the best and fast way for you.

Visa procedure at embassy
The process of getting traditional visa from embassy is straightforward. You submit documents required, pay processing fee and come back to receive the passport (with visa attached).
Requirements:
- Original passport: should have at least 6 months validity and 2 blank pages
- Application form: must be completed fully and correctly. The form is available at embassy’s office
- 02 passport sized photos
In some cases, supporting documents may be requested such as visa approval letter, flight ticket, hotel reservation.
Charges:
Vietnam visa fees are determined by visa category, length of stay and number of visit. It costs at least $67 for single entry tourist visa, 1 month. Please contact with consular section to check the correct fee.
Processing time:
Regularly, the visa is issued within 3-5 business days (excluding weekends and national holidays) since receipt of complete application. Be sure to check visa for errors after you collect it. Any error must be notified to embassy as soon as possible for correction.
Note: visa on arrival program is only applicable for arrivals by air. For Taiwanese citizens crossing overland into Vietnam, the visa must be already obtained when you reach the border.
Apply online for visa approval
- Fill out visa application form online with your personal and travel information (full name, date of birth, passport number, intended travel date, type of visa…)
- Use credit or debit card to pay processing fee. After payment, a confirmation email will be sent to you aiming to inform the date you are expected to receive the approval.
If you use normal service, the approval is delivered within 2 business days around 6:00 pm (Vietnam time). For fast track service, the processing time may be 1 hour or 24 hours.
Once you have obtained visa approval, bring it to airport and be ready for:
Pick up visa upon arrival
With the approval, you are able to collect the visa at any Vietnam’s airports (Hanoi, Danang, Ho Chi Minh). Here are steps you should follow to be granted the visa:
- Proceed to Landing visa counter and transfer your original passport, letter of visa approval, completed entry-exit form, 01 passport size photo.
- Wait while the immigration officer processes the visa. When the processing is done, your name will be called and your passport will be held up to the window with photo page showing.
- Pay stamping fee: To avoid payment problems, you should prepare the fee in USD in form of cash.
- Collect the visa with a payment receipt. Check for accuracy of the visa before you leave the window.
